Locked out of Facebook? How To Recover your FB Account

Locked out from Facebook: How To Recover your FB Account

Are you locked-out of your Facebook account and you can’t access your Facebook or Messenger?

Are you requested to insert a code sent to a phone number (or email) you no longer have?

Well, you are in the right place! I might help you just by telling my own experience and explaining how I recovered my FB access.

This is what happened to me:

I was setting up something on my FB account, when I was asked to type my password (OK), and after that, I was taken to a security check page where I was requested to insert a code sent to my phone number, just to verify my identity.

The problem was that it was an outdated phone number, in other words: I din’t have that phone number any more!

There was where my nightmare started…

The first thing I wanted to do was to get in touch with Facebook support or customer service or something similar to that. But the big problem is Facebook does not have this kind of services…
Basically what they have it’s a lot of pages full of information, but at the end of the day after searching you only waste your time….

So my next step after failing in getting in contact with Facebook or finding a solution, was to talk to Facebook through their social media posts ( I was very upset to be honest). Take a look at some of my comments to Facebook posts:

Of course, 0 response from Facebook.

The next thing I tried was contacting them via Twitter: again no response.

I also “shouted out” on my Twitter posts asking for help, maybe someone could help me out.

I only got people telling me to let them know if I eventually find a solution, and some other pessimistic messages telling me that I already had lost all of my years of work and content on my Facebook pages.

I also reached Facebook gurus, friends of friends, managers of marketing agencies, even Facebook employees….

Well, suddenly after trying lots and lots of things my account become suspended….

So I thought, well, this is goodbye.

But one day talking to my friend Martha she said, so finally you made it to get your Facebook back….And I said… Well, not really, my account was suspended. And she said: “Well, a few weeks ago I saw you were within my contacts again….”

I checked and…. Yes! I only had to type in my password and I could access my account!!!

Facebook didn’t even bother to let me know my account was back on….Again incredibly disappointed with Facebook.

Anyway, now I’m going to let you know what you need to know to recover your account. Keep reading!

STEP 1: You need to reach Facebook about your problem by its “facebook security check preventing login” page. Tap on the following image to go to that page:

Locked out from Facebook: How To Recover your FB Account

Alternatively, you can get to this page by searching this on Google (copy and paste the following):
facebook security check preventing login

There you can explain your problem. Don’t forget to include your email, screenshots of what you are seeing, etc.

I would recommend repeating this 3 times a week during 2 weeks and after that once a week.

STEP 2: Comment on the posts of Facebook on Social Media (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc). Don’t forget to tell about your problem commenting on the social media posts of Facebook.

STEP 3: Then you just have to wait, wait and wait…. I personally waited for 2 months and a half.

I wish you all the best in recovering your account. Please share in the comments your case, maybe someone can help you!

  2. Hello all. I’ve also been locked out of my account. Hi. I’ve been locked out of an account that’s over a decade old and one I use regularly. It contains a lot of photos and memories that are Important to me. I was merely going through the process of trying to change my email address and then it locked me due to suspicious activity. I followed the link from the warning email to try to reactive my account upon it being locked account and consistently receive the locked account message. I am unable to proceed and answer any security questions. I cannot get passed the ‘confirm that this is your account’ function. I have also tried clicking on ‘learn more’ then ‘visit this page to secure account’ and again I’m directed to the locked account page that contains a date as to when it was locked. I click on learn more again then ‘get started’ via guided help, then I reach the help with a hacked account page. This page states ‘answer a few questions and we’ll help you find the right solutions’ – yet there are no questions. I’ve tried change my password, which I’m able to do as I have access to both the email and phone number (I’ve tried this by both). I’ve also tried logging in through my laptop and phone, which I both use regularly, and still return to the locked account page. There does not seem to be an available avenue to unlock my account. I’ve tried reporting a login issue through links provided by Angie and Katie, but it’s not letting me send. Can anyone please help?

    1. Hi Caroline, I have EXACTLY the same problem and I am losing my company because of this. Have you had any response or gained acces yet?

      1. Hi Valerie,

I’m sorry for my slow repsonse, only just seen your message. I’ve had no response. I’ve needed to log out in order to submit a report, weirdly, as I cannot proceed to secure my account logged in. So strange that I can change password, etc, but my account remains locked…

I’m sorry to hear your situation.

    1. Any response, Kate? Plus, did you get a notice when you submitted? What does it look like as I’m unsure if mine’s going through…

    2. Hi my Facebook account has been locked, I tried everything to get back my account but the Facebook was asking me for a code but I can’t have it because I’m no longer using the mobile number.I hope you can help me to recover my account . Thanks

  3. Someone hacked my account through a fake fema company and scammed me at least 20 my Facebook friends through messenger and gained access to my account and changed my email address and now I can’t access my account and they are continuing to scam my friends and and Facebook is not doing anything after multiple times filing a complaint

  4. I was totally locked out of facebook for trying to edit my personal page. I have been receiving email containing pages from one of the groups I am in in FB but there is no way I can access them. I sent them my proof of age, which is what they asked for but still, nothing.

    1. Hi! I’ve heard that you can send ID – but all I can find are the lists of verified ID and no link to actually submit. The help centre is so rubbish. Do you have the link, please?
